What you should know about Whenuapai School
It all began in 1957 when the Waitemata City Council decided to build a new school. The property was just about to be bought by the council when someone pointed out that the school should be situated in central Whenuapai near the Airbase. The Whenuapai Poultry Farm owned by the Andersons was sold to the council and preparations for the school began. The founding principal of the school was Mr Mcrae, whose wife was also on the staff.
The first school committee had many battles in the first couple of years getting classrooms for the already burgeoning school, getting a pedestrian crossing outside the school and having a telephone installed
All students must wear the appropriate sport uniform when representing the school. Information packs including application information and enrollment forms are available from the school office. We also want our students to become passionate about their chosen sports so that they remain to play sport at tall school and for some at a representative level. Our library is eternal themed for book fairs and looks gorgeous with the assist of our talented children’s art. The Book is the knowledge tile, which represents learning, teaching and information.
Our staff are committed to their own professional learning thus ensuring we offer a motivating, engaging and hard learning environment for all learners. Teachers reinforce the school rules in their classrooms, so all children are mindful of them. A note from parents must be sent at the beginning of the year big-hearted permission for their child children to ride to and from school. Our aim is to have all of students receive portion in our physical education and sports programmed, with the opportunity to represent our school in a range of sports in Years 5 8. School rolls are marked by teachers and the office in the morning and afternoon.
It gives me immense recreation to welcome our school community to the 2016 school year. We therefore request parents to promote this rule and walk their children through the designated walkway. Who We Are The Board is a group of individuals that are portion of the Whenuapai School community. Should you be taking your kid out of school for a trip holiday the office requires the dates that the child will be absent from school.
At Whenuapai School we pride ourselves on doing the very best that we can for all our students, all the time. The Whenuapai School Board of Trustees meets in the staff room at the school. As a school we are committed to ensuring that all our students establish a strong foundation in literacy and numeracy, have a depth of accepting in a broad range of knowledge, benefit high levels of thinking skills, flourish effective social and co operative skills as healthy as the attitudes, values and dispositions to want to remain on their life long learning journey. The Board of Trustees operates a Ministry of Education approved enrollment Handle to prohibit overcrowding, as the school receives more applications for enrollment than places available.
Library The Whenuapai School library is situated behind the Castro turf court and is begin daily from 8. Access of Parents Caregivers to Children During School Hours Parents Caregivers visiting the School during the school day must go to the office and sign in before entering Ch school grounds and sign out when leaving. 20pm. Care about the day to day running of the school buses, safety issues, organizational procedures see the Principal
