What you should know about Waitakere Playhouse Theatre Trust
A door by the theater office on the correct leads to the lighting box that was once a projection box during the time when Playhouse was a cinema, The Star theater, before to 1972. A theater Manager or Trust Custodian is on hand at all times to aid with all aspects of a theater hire and has the support of other theater personnel when necessary to assist in all areas of staging an event or production. Live Band, Period costumes, a large vibrant Cast, you’ll love this rowdy Musical of non terminate action and musical entertainment. Our home theater group, Playhouse theater Incorporated, has a priority booking of the venue for 16 weeks each year to stage productions that include plays, musicals, children's shows and other associated events.
For patron safety, auditorium step lights are to be left on during any event and stairway lights also if the balcony seating is being used. A disability toilet is provided in Fore of House and also adjacent to the backstage dressing rooms at the end of the corridor in the green room. Both the Fore of House Supper Room and the backstage Green Room can be used for catering purposes. Hire times our performing arts facility is available for community, professional, corporate and private hire day or evening during week days and weekends by arrangement.
This is run by theater volunteers and proceeds go toward providing costuming for shows presented by Playhouse theater Incorporated. Since 1972 the old Star cinema previously obvious as Glen Eden's Town Hall had been always impaired by Playhouse Productions Inc later renamed Playhouse theater Incorporated and other community groups as a venue for staging theatrical performances. Originally on the site where the Playhouse theater now stands at 15 Glendale Road, Glen Eden in West Auckland there was a wooden building that served as a public hall and offices for the Glen Eden Town Board. Two wheelchair spaces are available seat numbers 1 and 23 situated either final of Row H. Playhouse theater Incorporated the 'resident' theater group of Playhouse operates a costume hire facility at the rear of the theater.
Alternatively there are phone extensions for communication throughout the theater covering fore office, supper room, lighting box, onstage, green room etc
