International students are allowed to work part time, but there are rules and conditions on the part time work they can do, which are very important to know. International students must have appropriate and current medical and travel insurance while studying in New Zealand. NZSE will, if required, arrange standard international student cover through Southern Cross Healthcare at the cost of the student. Most international students are not entitled to publicly funded health services while in New Zealand.

NZSE has formed a board dedicated to developing applied research at the school in order to align with the governments Tertiary Education Strategy TES . They have been meeting since early 2014 to work out the best strategy for developing a research programme. You will have direct pathways into degree programmes through our strong alliances with other tertiary education providers. You will also get practical experience and opportunities for further study down the track.
NZSE is also approved by TEC to provide tertiary programmes for domestic students
