What you should know about New Lynn Primary School
In 188 New Lynn School was built and opened on the land where Kelston Girls’ High School is now. Later in 188 Miss Duncan came to teach as the school was becoming overcrowded. In 1897 The Education Board chose New Lynn School as the Model Country School. In 1910 the community asked for the school to be located in a more central position as they thought Kelston was too far away and too dangerous! The horses patiently grazed away the school hours in the school paddock next to the Headmaster’s house. Some games that were played at school included marbles, corner tag and puss in the corner.
When they cleared away the building’s rubble an interesting jar was found, which had been buried when the building was made in 1914

We offer parents as many opportunities to learn about their children's learning as possible. Our First Performance of 2013 Our first performance of 2013 took store at our Friday afternoon school assembly. New Lynn Primary School presents MIGRATION, a incredible stage presentation of the migration of the Polynesian people that had occurred over thousands of years.
We are a culturally different school with immense strengths to share and learn from each other. We would like to say thank you very much to the New Lynn Rotary Club, who did a incredible job of organizing and donating their time and resources to finishing off our vegetable garden. She shares the role of Notable Needs Coordinator and works with DOE Special Education to provide an inclusive education for our students with disabilities. Our parents who were capable to arrive and last but not least Mrs Joanna Crosby who makes things happen.
In 2009 our garden group was nominated for the Best Garden Group in West Auckland Waitakere. The purpose of Education Reviews is to assist schools improve the learning and achievement of students and to offer schools, parents and communities, and the government convenient information to aid with ongoing improvement. Money raised from this will aid subsidies a trip to the art gallery following term. We have started practicing for our school concert which is in term 4 and it is also based on 'The Lotus Seed' book.
The contest is a performance opportunity for children at all levels of musical achievement, which aims to encourage young musicians to perform and to profit precious performance experience and confidence. This creates a potent learning community for both students teachers and parents. There is a professional staff of teachers at New Lynn School who have lofty expectations of your children and their learning. Parents are welcome at Fresh Lynn School and are encouraged to participate in any way they can. The gardening group is about planting a variety of plants and learning about the importance of water and nutrients to feed them.
As piece of the Bullying Free week, we will be having a 'WEAR SOMETHING PINK' day on Friday 20th May. Mrs Michelle Andrews Mrs Piaare swain Mrs Joanna Crosby Particular Needs and Garden Group
