We have tours to Auckland’s lush coastal rainforest and the black sand beaches of the rugged west coast. Our Hobbiton tour to the Hobbiton Movie Set is a must for anyone who is a fan of the Lord of the Rings or The Hobbit. If food and wine are your passion then our wine tours can give your senses an exhilarating day out to Matakana or Kumeu. It is a small company recognised for the quality of its tours and tour guides. The company was bought by Ben Thornton and Penny Mitchell in 2013 and they have continued to grow the company’s selection of tours and reputation.
This was recognised in 2016 with Bush and Beach being chosen as the inaugural winner of the New Zealand Tourism Export Council’s Small Business Operator of the Year award. We are an Auckland Council approved operator, an approved Auckland Airport operator and have the appropriate Department of Conservation concessions. Bush and Beach have been operating for over 30 years and has a proven track record in all aspects of running tours in New Zealand. We know that a lot of our environment is under threat and at Bush and Beach we are committed to working to minimise the harm we do to the environment and are always looking for ways we can continue to improve.
Whenever possible we will use re useable items rather than disposable ones to save waste. If you come on our nature tours that include an afternoon tea stop you will see this in action as we use real glasses and real tea cups and mugs! In our office we recycle and re use wherever possible as well. New Zealand native birds are under constant threat from introduced pests so we decided to help by having one of our guides going out once a week to work with the park rangers to help get rid of these pests. All of our guides have a passion for the environment, want to care for it, learn more about it and share it with others
